Let's be real. We all love getting holiday cards the old-fashioned way. Opening your mailbox and seeing a card addressed to you and your family gives you all the feels. You collect them on your fridge or display shelf. So how do you create one? And what is the timeline to get them ready in time?
I made the mistake of taking photos in early September once; it was over 100 degrees. I had my family in sweaters, and they were MELTING. It was too hot...too uncomfortable. My suggestion would be wait until the weather cools off enough to pull out those fall clothes.
On the flip side, you don't want to wait until end of November to take holiday card photos. It won't give your photographer enough time to edit and return the photos.
Take your photos in October or EARLY November
The BEST time to take holiday photos is October and the first week of November. That will give you enough time to receive the edited photos, order the holiday stamps and mail out your cards.
My favorite online card shops are Tiny Prints, Simply to Impress, and Minted.
